Personally, I feel like sleep is often underrated in health.
The thing is, if your body isn't well rested it doesn't have enough energy to function well, and when that happens you not only feel tired but your body will literally be too tired to use its energy on your skin. The body has a prioritizing system. It puts its energy first towards all the vital systems so it can keep you alive. Then it goes to what's next vital, and so on.
How you look is the least of your body's worries. You can have acne or scars and still survive so your body won't prioritize clearing or healing your skin when it's utterly tired. So if you want your body to have the energy to beautify itself, you have to make sure it first has the energy to keep itself alive and healthy. So proper sleep is incredibly important in your skincare goals. I know sleeping well is not always easily done. But if you do your best for your body it will always do it's best for you too.
If you have trouble sleeping, I would first suggest being thoughtful about what you eat, drink and making sure you aren't deficient in any vital nutrients. When these things are upset, trouble sleeping is inevitable. I would suggest seeing a Dr and getting checked for any unexpected ailments and deficiencies and make sure you fill those gaps as much as you can when you get your results in.
Depending on what's causing your sleeping troubles, some natural sleep aids might also help a lot. Not all of these are taken internally. Sometimes a warm herbal tea helps a lot (my mom drinks chamomile and it works great for her!), I have found that exercising before bed helps me a lot (even if I just do face yoga!), and other simple things like playing a movie or music in the background can also be great for relaxing your mind and helping you rest.
Below is a list of r e m e d i e s and products that I and my family have found helpful if you want to try any of them! I hope at least a few things might be helpful to you!
